DIY UNTIL THE DAY I DIE: DO IT YOURSELF HI-VIZ ON THE CHEAP

The Carbon Single Speed, Now Even More Highly Visible

'bike-specific' reflective tape (i.e. Pre-cut, rebranded 3M reflective tape) can cost upwards of 15 bucks for a kit that covers 2 bikes max.

Knowing that the vast majority of car-bike collisions occur when a cyclist is struck from the side, i bought a roll of 3M HI-VIZ tape at Sutherland's (similar to Home Depot), cut it in half down the middle with a paper cutter, then applied long strips to each side of the downtube.

I always run front and rear lights at night as well, but it can't hurt to have some extra insurance for 3 bucks a roll.
